Democracy
Think about this; that a good idea might be too complex for the average person to fully grasp. In democracy that good idea would seldom win, would it? Some concepts cannot be simply explained, they have to be examined and understood, taught like math.
In everyday life it seems neither politicians nor voters have the patience for complexity. So what are we left with then?
Note: Take fairness: We value fairness, but fairness is often complicated. There is no time for fairness, when what people most often seem to want is judgement.
