Dreamscapes
"I created this world, to feel some control..."
We have within us, the capacity to create imaginary worlds. Fickle dreamscapes of pure imagination, not generated by subconscious processes of sleep, but by intention. Close your eyes and try to look at your hands. You can feel them yes, but you can also "see" them. If you turn them, you can "see" them turn. Now do the same, close your eyes, and instead of actually turning your hands, imagine you do so. Can you see them turned? Do it again, this time imagine that you reach out for a cup of coffee, and bring it to your lips, take a sip. See? It's like reading a book, and seeing the scenes before your inner eye. Only you can do this yourself without any text.
Now, close your eyes again, and imagine you pull something from your pocket. What did you find there? What would it have been if it wasn't something you actually had in your pocket? Now, one last time, imagine that you hold a small stone in your closed hand, with eyes still closed, open your palm and look at it. What shape does it have? Weight? What temperature? What color and texture?
You have the power to manipulate it at will, and with training and concentration, make it just as vivid as you like.
Where does consciousness fit into this? Imagine this: You are in some kind of experiment, where you get robbed of all your senses. Sight, smell, sound, touch, pain. No feeling of breathing. No senses left at all. Only total blackness and memories. Could you populate this entire blackness with your own inner dream world? What would happen over time?
Now, imagine you were born without any senses at all. What would be there? The capacity for dream worlds?
"Destroy it if I want..."
