On self-control
Try to take a moment to think about the meaning of the word.
Self-control.
There is something there, in the word, the battle between feeling and thought? That which we perceive as free will? Between nature and upbringing. The word implies some level of autonomy over the self, whatever that self is.
But if everything is deterministic or random, saying we have self-control is wrong. A more fitting term would be controlled? Controlled by the deterministic self, or by the randomness of... of what exactly?

Note: We know that we can train our self-control, but do we actually have self-control to choose to train it, or is that deterministic and out of our hands?
